Fireside chat

So, rather than just making a blog to whine about it whenever I get banned, I'm going to go outside that box today and write on some different things.

I'm just going to summarize a few posts I've read over the past few weeks on 99chan.

One of the things that makes our imageboard better is the posts, or rather the lack of. People on 99chan tend not to post when it's not needed, and when they do, they usually make an extra effort to make any bad thread viable.

Someone on /b/ a few weeks posted a thread telling people to stop putting "Hey /b/" or some variation of that into their thread. I concur, it seems retarded when posted over and over again.

I lost count how many times I've been banned (some alternative points to be made)

You have been banned from posting on /b/, /ask/ for the following reason:

Ban reason for /b/: What has the fact that this isn't 4chan got to do with the OP returning from Tehran? Also, I'm interested in the subject, so obviously some people do care.
Ban reason for /ask/: This is /r/ material, sorry.

Your ban was placed on July 1, 2009, 6:08 am, and will expire on July 4, 2009, 6:08 am.

The reason I called that thread out on /b/ for being 4chan-esque, is because frankly it is a 4chan type thread.  First of all that nigger had no proof that he had actually been in Iran, which makes whoever banned me gullible as hell.  Overall I was just sick of hearing about Iran, not specifically on 99chan, but in the media in general.  I hate when I turn on the TV and they call it "The Twitter revolution", and I guess that was just tipping me to the point that I didn't care anymore.  The style the thread was posted in was what made me call it out on being 4chan.  The OP said "Just got home from Tehran. Ask an election protest survivor anything." Now, maybe if the thread was composed differently, rather than putting it into the generic template "Ask a ____ anything", which started becoming a very popular to start off threads on 4chan about a year ago.  OP could have at least been more informative of his experiences, if in fact he was actually in Iran, which he wasn't.

Then onto my banning from /ask/.  First of all, I don't know what the fuck is going on with that board, but in the last few days there've been about 10 new threads, which confuses me.  Usually thats about the max for an entire week.

I was also somewhat disgruntled by this post:

 G. Oogleit 09/06/30(Tue)02:30 No. 19956 [Reply]
Alright, /ask/.
I need to know.
How do I shaved pubes?
Just like shaving my face, or what?
I am at a total loss here.
Pic related, I don't know what the fuck.

How do I shaved pubes?  Com'on, thats fucking I can haz cheeseburger syntax.  Not to mention it was a completly retarded topic to begin with.

Onto my ban.  I accept it, but I feel the time frame is inadequate given the nature of the reason for my ban.  I don't even think I should have been banned.  It was enough that the thread was deleted for being wrongly posted in /ask/.

Whatever, guess I'm posting on /regs/.  I don't really understand that board anyways, it doesn't suck, there have been a few good discussions.  I really like the thread about the security guy that works in the hospital.

Also,

I don't know why you don't make /mu/ visable.  You want to use it to share music?  It would be much more useful if you revoked the ability to post mp3's, as many people are retarded to the point that they don't read the front page and wrongly post music discussion in a Meta board.

Alternatively, you could put at the top of the page "Do not post music licenced in USA", or something like that.  Then the board would turn into japanophile garbage though.  Huh.

Old news

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This happens to me a lot.  I knew it was comming this time, though.

I reported a bunch of boarderline shit posts on /b/ a few hours ago and I suppose this was inevitable.

Oh well.

Seriously though.  Anti-sage?  You should ban that faggot.

/regs/

So, the 99chan /b/ is being split into one that allows bullshit and one that doesn't? I realize that /regs/ is just getting off the ground, but it's sucking pretty hard so far.

Didn't 7chan do this a short while after it was resurrected and 78/99chan came into existence? I wasn't there to see how the 7chan experiment went, but it probably sucked.

Let me predict the end of this board, in lets say, two weeks or less. Probably in a time frame resembling that of the former /incognito/.

Also, if anyone with power reads this, change the default theme back to nigrachan again...

Shoop

Lets add this word to the list of annoying chan terms.  I was just looking at some thread on 99 with that 2 headed sister sucking off some guy and I swear the next 10 replies all said "shoop".

I don't really know, but isn't "shoop" in some way connected to that old encyclopedia dramatica shit Shoop da whoop?

Banned...again. (with discussion on tripcodes on 99chan)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I don't feel like appealing this.

Ironically I received this message trying to report a post.

I guess I'm just feeling a little disenfranchised ever since 4chan went down and all those faggots started posting at 99chan.  I know it isn't that bad, but I just feel a bit oddly about it.  Maybe by the time my ban is over the /b/ board will have cleared up a little.

Also, why are there so many tripfags on 99chan?  I see two new ones pop up every day.  I recall Casanova writing on /docta/ once that this isn't inherent that everyone posts with a trip.  I can see trying to make a name for yourself, like users like VoxxenFAIL have (even if they get annoying sometimes) but most of the people using tripcodes only use them maybe once or twice and I never see them posting again.

"the chans"

This term bothers me too.

I hate it, its essentially an umbrella term used by 7 and 4channers to pool every imageboard into one mass collective.
